Job title: Netball Head Coach at Leeds City College / Leeds Rhinos Development Officer

Responsible to: Head of Community and Engagement

Main purpose of job

Lead the delivery of Netball across Leeds City College netball extracurricular programme alongside the outreach to their feeder schools. Be the main focal point for netball coaching; its provision and quality control. In Rhinos, working with partners across the region to develop netball participation under the Leeds Rhinos family. A clear focus and energy on engaging diverse communities across the city to enable opportunities for all.

Main responsibilities with Leeds City College

  • Produce tactical development programmes.
  • Develop and store appropriate resources for netball.
  • Video analysis for teams/individuals where possible
  • Develop netball players individual work and fitness as required.
  • Coach netball to all ages and abilities
  • Lead coach for cup and league squads
  • Umpire fixtures if needed.
  • Select and manage teams for Wednesday fixtures.
  • Promote professional standards of punctuality, discipline, and sportsmanship with all pupils.
  • Attend departmental meetings on invitation.
  • Be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the college including outside normal hours.
  • Co-ordinate Leeds Rhinos Foundation masterclass and workshop programme, working with the wider Leeds Rhinos Netball community team.
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and overseeing the Rhinos Netball Community camp provision.
  • Build relationships with local schools, community clubs, county, and national bodies to grow the Leeds Rhinos Netball offer.
  • Support Rhinos Challenge Netball
  • In conjunction with partner organisations, develop a specific plan for Netball in Leeds
  • Working closely with Leeds Rhinos Pathway to identify athletes and future talent

General:

  • Any other assistance may be reasonably required from time to time by Head of Netball at Leeds City College or SLT at Rhinos in order to facilitate the efficient running of the college and club.

Salary – Dependent on skills and Experience

Contract – 12 month Fixed term / 40 hours a week
