ENGLAND NETBALL REVEAL SQUAD SELECTED FOR EUROPE NETBALL UNDER 19 EVENT

Roses Pathway Head Coach Josie Pointon has selected a squad of 12 athletes who will represent England at the inaugural Europe Netball U19 Event.

The tournament will be held in Nottingham at the David Ross Sport Village from 6-8 November, and will see England’s U19 squad compete against France, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The tournament will be the first performance competition of the Europe Netball U19 Event, which was introduced as a pilot event in 2023, designed to provide U19 athletes within the region an opportunity for elite competition. For Roses Pathway Head Coach Josie Pointon, who will be joined on the coaching bench by Lauren Palmer as Assistant Coach and Shannon Day as Technical Coach, the event will be an important milestone as England look to compete in the Malta 2027 Commonwealth Youth Games. Of the 12-strong squad she has selected, eight players were part of the England side who won the Europe Netball U17 Event earlier this year, including Anna Dale-Smith and Timi Adewale who acted as captain and vice-captain at the U17 Event.

Under 19 squad:

Roses Pathway Head Coach Josie Pointon commented: “We’re really excited about the talent within this group and the opportunity they have to represent England at the U19 Europe Netball competition. This is a valuable opportunity for the athletes to test themselves against international opposition, experience the demands of tournament netball and continue to develop their understanding of what it takes to perform on the international stage.

“We’re looking forward to seeing them embrace the challenge, compete with pride and continue to grow as a group. As we look ahead to the potential of the Youth Commonwealth Games next year, this competition is also an important step in our wider journey to prepare and develop athletes for the future of the Roses programme.”
