Harriet Jones commits to fourth season with NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball
Harriet Jones will continue her journey with NIC Rhinos Netball after signing for the club's 2027 Netball Super League campaign, extending her stay into a fourth consecutive season.
Since arriving ahead of the 2024 season, Jones has become an increasingly influential figure in the Rhinos attack, developing into one of the club's most consistent and versatile shooters.
Capable of playing at both Goal Attack and Goal Shooter, Harriet has continued to grow year on year in a Rhinos dress. Across her first three seasons with the club, Jones has made 45 appearances and scored more than 500 goals, establishing herself as an important part of the squad's attacking unit.
The 2026 campaign saw Jones feature in 13 matches, scoring 210 goals. She also demonstrated her long-range threat under the two-point rule, converting 53 Super Shots with a total shooting accuracy of 72%.
Having begun her netball journey with Chester Netball Club before progressing through Oldham Netball Club and the Manchester Thunder pathway, Jones arrived in Leeds as one of England's bright young prospects. She has also represented her country at Under-17 level and is now a part of the England A squad.
Now preparing for a fourth season in blue and amber, Jones continues to show the club's commitment to developing talented young athletes into established Netball Super League players.
Harriet Jones said:
“I'm really excited. I can't believe it's going to be my fourth year with Leeds – it's absolutely flown by. I'm just really excited to get back with the girls and see what we can do in the 2027 season.
“It really does start to feel like family now, which is nice. Lauren has been a coach of mine since I was little, so being coached by her again is great because I've got someone I'm familiar with and comfortable around.
“I love the culture at Leeds. Every team I've played with here has got on really well, and I'm just super excited to be here for my fourth year. Hopefully my stats will keep going up too. I'd love to push towards having one of the highest appearance records for the club – that's definitely a goal of mine.
“Each year, I just want to keep getting better and better, and I think statistically I've been doing that so far. I've been putting a lot more work in at home, particularly with my shooting and practising outside, so for me it's about building on that and maintaining that consistency. That's really key for me.
“Obviously, the (AMEX) Super Shot is a real focus area. I know that's where I can really deliver for the team, so it's about putting the work in at home and training so that when I get back on court, it feels natural.”
Head Coach Lauren Palmer said: “Harriet is another important player for us to retain. Her Super Shot is obviously a huge strength of hers and something that can have a real impact on games, but we saw so much growth from her throughout last season.
“She improved massively as the season went on, particularly in terms of her performances, maturity and the different aspects of her game. We’re really excited to build on the progress she made last year.”
Jones becomes the latest player confirmed for the Rhinos 2027 squad as preparations continue ahead of the new Netball Super League season.
