Jaz Brown Injury update

NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball have confirmed that Jaz Brown will undergo surgery after suffering an Achilles injury in the Round 3 game against Nottingham Forest.

Sadly, scans have shown that the Vitality Roses international will require surgery followed by a lengthy rehab, which will rule her out for the 2026 NSL season as well as Commonwealth Games selection.

Commenting on the news, Brown said: “As tough as this moment is, I’m choosing to stay positive and more determined than ever to come back stronger to the sport I love. I love a challenge, and I’m looking forward to using this time to grow both mentally and physically, with my sights firmly set on the 2027 season.

“Being ruled out for the remainder of the season is difficult, especially with the timing of the Commonwealth Games coming up, but I know this is not the end of my story and I will be back for more.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the small circle around me. The support I’ve felt, both near and far, means more than I can put into words during this difficult time.

“I would like to thank the medical staff at England Netball and Leeds Rhinos for their care as well as my fellow players who have sent messages of support.”

NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball coach Lauren Palmer said: “We are sending all our love and best wishes to Jaz.  We are all disappointed for her, she is in an outstanding talent and team mate, but she has a great attitude and is a determined player and we know will come back stronger after this setback. She will have the full support of the club and the players during her rehab.”
