Pathway Rhinos selected in 2025-26 Roses Academy programme.

A long squad of 47 young athletes have been selected for the 2025-26 Roses Academy programme.

The Roses Academy is a critical part of the England Netball performance pathway, designed to support young athletes on their journey towards potentially becoming senior England athletes. 

For 2025-26, a Roses Academy long squad has been selected for the first time in the programme’s history, in a change that is designed to support programme athletes away from camp in the lead up to their age group trials, from which the final Roses Academy squad will be selected, later in the year. 

The long squad is split into two groups comprising of Under 19 and Under 17 athletes. The U19s selected in this long squad will attend Roses Academy camps in November in preparation for fixtures that are planned for December 2025. Meanwhile, the U17s will attend camps in early 2026, building up to the U17 Europe Netball tournament in March 2026.

Commenting on the long squad selected, Roses Pathway Head Coach Sonia Mkoloma said: 

“I’m really pleased to announce the athletes invited to join the U17 and U19 Roses Academy long squad. They’ve all shown great promise and dedication throughout the season, and it’s been exciting to watch their progress. I’m looking forward to seeing them compete at selections and continue their development within the Roses Pathway.”
