NIC Rhinos shine at Netball Super Cup

NIC Rhinos Netball made it through to the Final of the first ever Netball Super Cup at Sheffield Arena as the 2025 season got underway in style.

A huge crowd watched all eight Netball Super League teams compete in the first Netball Super Cup tournament which saw the teams compete in 15 minute games with the super shot coming into play for the first time.

The Rhinos didn't get off to the best start with a 17-12 defeat to Cardiff Dragons but they soon settled into the new format picking up a 16-13 win over London Pulse and a 12-11 win over reigning Netball Super League champions Loughborough Lightning to book a place in the semi-final.

In the semis, the NIC Rhinos faced new side Nottingham Forest and looked cool under pressure with the super shot proving vital to earn a 15-13 victory.

In the final Leeds once again came up against Pulse, but despite the impressive efforts of Sophie Egbaran who continued her 100% super shot record, the NIC Rhinos lost out 20-15.
