Job Opportunity: Media Executive
Leeds Rhinos Foundation is recruiting for a Media Executive to promote the NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball franchise and to support the charity’s media team to highlight its wide-ranging work.
Reporting to the Franchise Director of NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball and Leeds Rhinos Communication Manager, the successful candidate will work as a key member of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation team to promote the Netball franchise, grow their supporter base and promote the wider work of Leeds Rhinos Foundation.
NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball were successfully awarded a licence for the new era of the Netball Super League following an extensive tender process. The team has competing in the Netball Super League competition since 2021 and runs Pathways in Yorkshire and the North East.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation is a local charity (charity number 1112580), delivering projects across Yorkshire to help make people's lives better. It works with all sections of the community, utilising the power of sport to deliver vital services and inspire individuals to lead happier and healthier lives.
NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball Media Executive
- Management of the club’s social media platforms and club website
- Creating and implementing a content plan to promote home and away fixtures
- Writing stories for the club websites, including match previews, partner announcements, player interviews and match reports
- Planning and creating engaging social content for all platforms to increase engagement and grow the audience for the franchise
- Gathering photography and video footage at training
- Media fulfilment for the club’s partnerships
- Content planning and creation around key campaigns during the year
- Producing team news for all NIC Rhinos Netball teams
- Attending and creating coverage of home and away match days, providing social media updates, interviews and match reports
- Liaising with broadcasters to fulfil requirements over the season and on game day
- Managing the workload of club photographer and providing a brief on match day and maintaining image library
- Represent the club with stakeholders and implement Super League wide initiatives
- Pro-actively work with local and national media to gain wider coverage of the franchise
- Drive all community activity promotion and coverage
- Work with the franchise’s two Pathways to support their recruitment and coverage of fixtures
- Liaise with the club’s graphic designer to create engaging content and promotional material
- Propose and deliver email strategy – to include segmentation and targeting
- Support the research and production of all netball gamedays covering peripheral and on court entertainment
- Working with club’s partners to create unique PR opportunities
- Manage the Leeds NIC Rhinos Netball website using CMS, producing regular content and ensuring information is accurate and up to date
- Provide coverage of the Leeds Rhinos Netball team's community work
- Create and implement a media and marketing plan to promote and sell the club’s camps, residentials and development hubs.
- Support the Leeds Rhinos Foundation media team with coverage of their work and content for their website and social channels
Key skills:
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
2. Good attention for detail and proof-reading skills
3. Understanding of different social media platforms and tone of voice
4. Experience of using content management systems
5. Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
6. Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative
7. Creative and ability to identify newsworthy stories
8. Excellent IT skills
9. Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work load and multi task.
10. Editing skills in Adobe software (training will be provided)
The role will be based at AMT Headingley Stadium, St Michael's Lane, Headingley, Leeds LS6 3BR.
This is a full time role of 40 hours per week; however you must be flexible in your commitment to this role as you may be required to work evenings and weekends and attend all Netball Super League fixtures during the season.
